- 4 Cardamom pods
- 4 Cloves
- 2 Star anise
- as needed water
Steps to make to make Coconut milk pulao
- Wash and soak the Basmathi Rice for 30minutes
- In a pressure Cooker, Heat a tbsp of Ghee and all the spices(cumin seeds, Bay leaf, Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and star anise)
- Then add in the sliced onions and green chillies and fry till onions changes colour.
- Further add in the Ginger Garlic paste and saute till the Raw smell leaves.
- Drain the water from the soaked rice and keep the drained water safe.
- Add in the Rice and mix gently
- Add the one and half cup Coconut milk and half cup of water drained from the soaked Rice
- Add Enough salt. Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves
- Close the pressure Cooker and cook for 2whistles. (If you are cooking in a sauce pan, Cook for 10 minutes in high flame and 10 Minutes in low flame)
- After cooked, gently fluff the Rice. Garnish with Roasted Cashew Nuts and Coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with your favourite gravy and Enjoy
